With forty years in the industry and more than 20 years of experience as a small cap manager, Chris founded Laurus with a vision focused on building a new investment firm with a culture widely known for its discipline, ethics, and superior treatment of clients, employees, and other stakeholders. Chris launched Laurus following completion of a forty-month contract where his primary responsibilities were to improve and formalize the investment process of a west coast investment firm, while launching and managing their Canadian small cap fund.
Chris has held a number of senior roles, including President and Chief Investment Officer of a boutique equity firm, Director and Chief Operating Officer of a mid‐sized investment counsel, and Director of Institutional Investment for a large insurance company. Chris was a member of the investment board of the Canadian Olympic Committee (“COC”) between 2002 – 2015. Imbued with the Olympic spirit from his time with the COC, Chris’ leadership and direction of Laurus are based on the ethics of constant improvement and teamwork.
